Week 01 of Camp NaNoWriMo officially ended yesterday. At the end of day 07, the word goal is 11,666 words; I had 15,195.
I have a personal goal of 2000 words per day for this month. If I write 2500 words one day, that doesn’t mean I get to write 1500 the next day – I write 2000 words the next day. That allows me to get even more ahead and also to finish my novel quicker.
In the past week, I have learned a bit about my novel that I did not know in the beginning. (I never plan, so this happens every time). These things include:
- My MC runs his own business from his house, thus allowing him to do basically whatever he wants most of the time
- There is a possible suspicious organization responsible for Hypatia’s disappearance
- The company that Hypatia ran is more suspicious than they seem
- At some point, my MCs will be heading to Greece
There’s more stuff than that, but those are the important parts.
At the end of week 02, I expect to be at 28,000 or higher – 30,000 is the highest estimate I’ll make. I also expect to advance the plot quite a bit. Maybe my characters will finally be going to Greece. I am looking forward to writing that part. A lot.
