Yep, Camp NaNoWriMo is finished – eleven days early. It’s not too surprising, especially considering how much I’ve been writing each day this month. The website says I had an average of 2,641 per day, but that definitely wasn’t my daily word count. I started off with a personal goal of 2000 words per day, which quickly turned into “write as much as I can per day”. The past few days, I’ve been writing around 4000-5000 words. That certainly paid off, because not only did I win sooner than I expected, I also finished my novel!
Now about the novel…I’m not too happy with it. I realized that it wasn’t what I expected it to be about halfway through it. Of course, I wanted to quit and start a new novel, but that is never a good idea. Not only do I hate quitting, I also hate leaving things unfinished. I’ve got a couple of unfinished novels at the moment, and I didn’t want to create another one.
I did the only thing that made sense to me – I wrote at an extremely fast pace to get the novel over with.
And it worked. I’ve got a finished novel, and I’ve won Camp NaNoWriMo! And I’ve got eleven days left that I can relax…except I won’t be relaxing. I’ve got other novels to finish.
