Camp NaNo April Results

I…did not do very well this month. I knew I wasn’t going to do very well, but I really underestimated by how much.

The validator gave me 7,893 words, though MS Word says 7,845. Still, it’s a lot less than 20,000.

I’ll probably try to participate in the next Camp NaNo session. I am definitely not going to be as busy then as I was in April, unless I somehow end up at a job that leaves me exhausted after getting home from work.

Oh, have I mentioned I’m graduating soon?

Next week is finals week (the FINAL finals week!) and the week after that is graduation. After that, I’ll hopefully have job interviews and an actual job soon after.

I don’t know how much that’s going to affect my writing, but I have a goal of 500 words per day until I get this novel done. That’s the lowest I’m willing to set it, since anything lower feels like I’m not putting in any effort.

Anyway, how’d everyone else’s Camp sessions go?

  1. I almost hit 19k for CampNaNoWriMo. I had my goal set at 50k, so I didn’t get anywhere close to winning. I’m still working out how to make Camp work for me. I’ve won NaNoWriMo, but never CampNaNoWriMo. There’s something different about it that just makes it harder for me to focus.

      • I honestly feel like it’s because it isn’t November. During NaNoWriMo, I feel a lot of pressure to actually make my goal. I think it’s because there are more people doing it during that month, too.
