July Camp NaNo

I’m participating in July’s session of Camp NaNoWriMo, and I’m returning to what I did for last year’s sessions – writing a script instead of strictly writing prose. I have a problem with getting stuck writing descriptions, which writing scripts helps me avoid. I can concentrate on writing dialogue (which I’m actually good at and like a lot) and leave the scenery descriptions for when (or if) I write it up properly.

July’s script is a bit different, because I don’t intend to rewrite it in prose at all – I intend to make a comic out of it. That may or may not happen, depending on when I finish the script (probably mid-August) and how busy I am then.

Also I, uh, cheated a bit and have about 2300 words written already.

So what’s everyone else doing for July’s session?

  1. Hello Jay, I am writing in Camp NaNoWriMo in July and celebrating my birthday in July 11. I am writing poetry at 10,000 word goal. I have a Cabin called Cabin Enigma. Do you have a cabin yet?

    • Yes, I’ve had a cabin for a few days now. Good luck with your project and happy early birthday!

  2. July really snuck up on me… I was considering doing this, but with a new kitten and moving soon I don’t think I can spare the time and remain sane, even if I set a low word count goal. Too many things on the brain. But good luck!
